this makes me wonder: you think rats have adapted to humans? like, maybe they know humans don't care about them, but they also know predators stay away from humans, so the rat is using the human as a mobile shield or camouflage basically.

In a general sense, rats have most definitely adapted around humans in similar ways. They're smart little critters

It was late October
When i was far from sober
Walking home with manly pride
Well my feet began to stutter
So i sat down in the gutter
And a pig came by and sat down by my side. A lady passing by was heard to say
You can tell a man who boozes
By the company he chooses
And the pig got up and slowly walked away.
