There's a strong community of animators on Reddit, but lemmy appears to be lagging behind. Hence l created this space.

Oh, I've been messing with Blender for a while now. Originally started in late 2019 after I got my first PC. It was a low end office PC, but considering that I managed to get it for free, since a local office company was getting rid of them and they needed it off of their hands anyway, it was good enough. I kinda started losing interest in it by the winter of 2019., for me Blender had a sharp learning curve, and it took me a long while to even learn the interface properly. The fact that Blender 2.8 came around at that time, and most of the tutorials around were still on 2.79 didn't help. Luckily, lockdown happened and I picked it up as a hobby again, and still going strong 'till this day.
In the meanwhile, I also managed to get into a really tight knit Pokemon 3D community on discord (around 100 people back then, nowadays around 300), which greatly helped and encouraged me to continue doing stuff. I usually don't really do animations, they're very time consuming for me and I'm busy with uni atm, but here are two animations I made a few years ago:
I loved your creations on bluesky. You can post your videos in this community 😊. You know how to do it ! Share your bluesky url here. I myself don't have an account on bluesky.
Alright, thank you very much! ❤️
It was a rather small community even by Reddit standards, but I loved r/daily3d. I'm not a regular Blender user, but I dabbled with it and had some fun and even posted a few submissions years ago. Not sure if something like that would gain much traction on Lemmy just yet. I'm not sure of any other active 3d modeling communities on Lemmy, but maybe it would be easier to get participation if there were a community that didn't just focus on one program, but 3d modeling as a whole. That being said, Blender would probably be the most popular choice on Lemmy due to it being open source. If there were to be enough interest, would you consider a daily or weekly prompt for users here?
You're most welcome to share your posts on 3D modelling in this community. I'm looking forward to learning from you all😊😊😊
Many thanks! I'm not a blender user but I am an animation enthusiast, happy to be here.
Do you make animation videos ?
More of an editor than an animator- I've used sprites from video games and random gifs in my videos, but I don't draw them myself. Maybe someday, but I've got enough projects as is
