I can't decide if this or the babies in the tree trunk is my favorite, today. Both, probably.
I like making it too hard to decide! 😀
If you're talking about the 2 Screech Owls, I think the red one is actually the mom. I can't always tell when different photographers are shooting the same nest since everyone's equipment and techniques make things like both very alike and very different at times, but this one I think has a red momma and a grey daddy owl.
I'm pretty sure all baby Screeches start off grey, so the red one should be an adult one way or the other.
Though I've gotten soooo many baby GHO photos in my personal feed, I do like the GHO baby photos from today since the baby pinecone explosion I liked for something a little different.
That was my poor wording, I read where the fledgeling was knocked down. You're so kind and gentle in your replies, a fine example for us to model.
All of your posts are so well-chosen, it's clear you put time, effort and thought into them, and I do so appreciate that effort. Tree topper was cute, babies are cute, adults are often so serious looking. I think the dusk/dawn lighting lends something ethereal, haunting beauty, and heightens the soft appearance of fledglings.

Happy Friday, friend.
