Edit Confirmed, Mike Johnson is the next speaker after running the table of all present and voting Republicans, 220 to Hakeem Jeffries 209.

    • I think the applause was for when he crossed the threshhold into officially losing.

      • It's also when past speakers (and nominees) are voting for their candidate.

  • Wonder how long this piece of shit's term as Speaker will last.

    • Probably depends on how fast he jettisons the rule that lets a single member call for a vote to get rid of him.
