A New Tree Ethic: What If Trees Really Mattered? – The Nature of Cities

I’ve had similar negative experiences regarding public attitudes toward trees, even living in a city I think has above average appreciation for them. But there are also lots of really great people willing to push for making things better here, even if it is a minority.

Where did you end up going? I’ve considered becoming a municipal arborist but, like you, I dislike the idea of being a cog in a machine that does not share my values.
