It was definitely interesting to test it out. I didn't have any issues when I was flying in from the other side of Microtech. The frame drops only occurred when I arrived at New Babbage and all of the ships entered my view.
Those with better hardware were able to still move around. Those with weaker hardware were stuck with less than 1 FPS.
I had to turn off photo mode for clouds (it just looks so good) and lower the resolution to be able to move around again.
Hopefully we start to see some more optimizations that will enable massive fleets with large ships to engage eachother in Star Citizen.
This isn't the kind of thing that dynamic server meshing will fix since this is mostly a client side/rendering issue.
