sorry DC. you gotta wait in line. Israel and Ukraine deserve statehood first
Taxation without representation. I'm pretty sure an entire war was fought about that.
In all seriousness, though, the reasons why DC wasn't a state at the country's founding are no longer valid, and the only reason DC isn't a state now is because it's 45%+ black.
- Don't forget Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Mariana Islands.
  
  If you're born in ~~Guam~~ American Samoa, to two US Citizens, you don't automatically become a citizen.
  You have to apply to become one.
  At the nearest embassy.
  In New Zealand.
  Death to America.

Make it a State and force all the flags to get placed with the same thing, but another star awkwardly patched on.
- US law doesn't specify how the stars have to be arranged, so you can't force that but it is a valid flag
