Day Trip for a Young GHO

From Appalachian Wildlife Rescue

A quick success story to start off your weekend!

This week, we accepted a Great Horned Owl fledgling that transferred to our facility after a fun sleepover at VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group), a local 24-hour emergency vet in the area. They were found on the ground in someone's fenced-in backyard, so the concerned community member brought them in to make sure they weren't injured.

We are thrilled to say that upon further inspection, the young owl is totally fine! I mean, just check out how excited they were for a feeding- its beak clicking indicated its zeal for more treats! After administering fluids and coordinating pickup with the original finders, the young owl was reunited back where it was found with its parents!

It's kind to look out for your owl neighbors, so thank you all for "giving a hoot!"

Lurkers and passers-by, we need your support! Help us with the LemmySilver charity giveaway. Just reply with "!LemmySilver" to vote for us, and the prize will go to the care and rehab of wild owls.
