Who said you can't immerse yourself when playing with the opposite gender?

  • The floor and wall textures alone scream "this is NOT Skyrim!" but some asian MMORPG. FF14? Black Desert?

  • The gender is tied to the role for me. Male warrior, female assassin, male wizard, female ranger, male anyone with a gun, female thief.

Its about picking the gender that best fits the vibe of the character. The character is in mind their own person and also never represents me.

All this doesnt matter since I'm picking a warrior 99% of the time became i hate wizards and sneaky folk.

  • I've just come to the conclusion that my digital persona is a woman. I'm a cis hetero man in real life though. Not really any questions about it. But even in VR, I just exist as a lady.

  • I've tried it once or twice, really isn't for me, always end up going back to a male character. Maybe if I played more in third person, I'd be more likely to play as a female one... but probably still no.

  • I generally try and make my characters look like me (or my fursona if they have furry character options). The only exceptions are, Fallout 2, Demon Souls, and a lot of shooters because there are mechanical differences. Fallout 2 has special dialogue for women and makes saving Vic easy as fuck, Demon Souls has armors that are specific to gender, and female characters in shooters often tend to be smaller and thus harder to shoot.

So I guess I am gender fluid, but only if I gain an advantage when changing genders.

  • I think it's very likely you're trans and there's nothing wrong with that, it's important to come out and accept yourself and realize that these are signs you might not be as cis as you thought you were.

Check out !egg_irl@lemmy.blahaj.zone and !traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns@lemmy.ca and see if you relate to anything there. If you do, you're probably not entirely cis 🏳️‍⚧️

    • You must follow the Egg Prime Directive. You may not push or coerce people into identifying or not identifying a certain way. You must respect them as the gender they claim to identify as. In addition it is extremely in poor taste to make assumptions about other people’s identities based on external factors, we understand it cannot be helped but it is best not to as it can affect the way you treat others in noticeable ways.

      • Don't quote that gatekeeping garbage to me, I'm not pushing or coercing anyone of being trans. No trans person does that. That's TERF garbage meant to try and villify trans people for existing or being supportive of other trans and questioning people.

  • You can't talk about immersion if your Skyrim character looks like that. Nothing immersive about it.

  • Most guys are playing female characters. Even most female player chose them and women hate women the most. :D
