Texas bill would make identifying as transgender a felony punishable by jail

Because they think they are Saving us.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. Democrats can't afford to oppose the Republicans. If they didn't have them around they'd have nothing to fundraise about.

Fortunately a bill like this is unlikely to ever be referred out of committee. The Texas House is where legislation goes to die. They haven't even passed a budget yet, or figured out what they're doing with school vouchers, both of which must be passed before they can even start considering anything else
