Ironically, Hungary, which hasn't switched prime minister in 15 years, is higher than Romania on this index. So take from that what you will.
- wow, so this index is completely useless!

Mexico is lower than the US? Last I checked they still had free elections and rule of law lmao
- I'd imagine that the drug cartels make some of the regions in Mexico significantly worse from a everyday perspective.
  
  Idk man. It's hard to beat immigrant concentration camps and trans genocide.
- I really haven't been impressed with the democracy index.

- Four years and one skipped election later, USA may get that categorization. It's already listed as Flawed Democracy by this metric.
- The Economist is a British newspaper. No Americans here.
