Hello everyone!
First of all, I'm glad to see the growth of this community. Thanks to everyone posting/commenting/voting here! The increase of subscribers as well as posts, however, warrants a clarification/addendum to the contribution rules:
Only post socialist memes That refers to funny image macros and means that generally videos and screenshots are not allowed. Exceptions include explicitly humorous and short videos, as well as (social media) screenshots depicting a funny situation, joke or joke picture relating to socialist movements, theory, societal issues, or political opponents. (e.g. the classic case of humorous Tumblr or Twitter posts/threads)
this will be added to the sidebar as rule 0.
For more serious contributions and discussion, there is always:

I also want to appeal to you to report posts/comments that you think violate the rules. This does not mean, however, that you should report contributions that you simply dislike or think are not of high enough quality. The downvote button exists for filtering like that (so please use it, as well as the upvote button when you see good contributions!).
I came to this community after seeing the 50th Twitter screenshot on All just to see if it was ALL Twitter screenshots so it's funny to see this post here.
Glad to see you agree and I hope you stick to it. People are just reposting the top tweets from reddit, not memes. And they're OLD tweets, never referencing current events.
Question: is this community supposed to be for all things the US usually declares “left wing” such as LGBTQ+, trans rights, identity politics, and liberalism? Because while I’m all for those things, I feel like they aren’t really related to socialism. They’re just good things in general, not socialism good things in specific.

dw, your contributions so far haven rly solid! I just wanted to raise the bar for posts a bit to increase the quality of contributions. So no contributions on the lvl of discord meme channels, like quotes on a fancy background (ik... it pains me as well, most of my meme archive is made up of those... maybe we'll have matrix community with a room for that one day)
BTW if you wanna start a discussion based on a quote, there are always the sister communities
