It’s a budget phone. Rare earth magnets and fast wireless charging cost money.
I doubt it has anything to do with costing money, and everything to do with just intentionally manufacturing an inferior device to prevent cannabalizing more-expensive products.
It's the same reason they neuter otherwise-powerful products with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. It would cost a few bucks to add more RAM and storage but then why would anyone buy the more expensive products? Is it more expensive to R&D and manufacture a less-expensive processor or just kneecap it somehow to make that powerful processor near-useless?
$600?! is this not the budget line? I'm not all that familiar with Apple's lineup.
At Apple, you have to pay up to 1000$ for an iPhone. So theoretically, it is as budget for them to release a 600$ phone as it is for normal people to pay 200$ for the same kind of phone with the same features.
Wasn’t the iPhone SE 2022 like $400? This is definitely an increase for their lowest entry.
The modem is the most exciting thing. Bring on the competition to Qualcomm!
The lack of MagSafe is really weird 🤔
