For any other 中文 learners like me:
美国人民 以为的
Mĕiguó rénmín yǐwéi de
美国 - America, 人民 - people, like "the people"
以为 - to mistakenly think, 的 - [modifies the mood of the sentence indicating certainty]
中国人民 看到 的
Zhōngguó rénmín kàndào de
中国人民 - Chinese people (as a whole)
看到 - to catch sight of, 的 - [indicates the speaker is certain of what they are saying]
