They're not looking down because the genetics are being purified or mismatched in unusual .... and to them unnatural ways.
They'd be pissed because couples chose to inter breed between species and would require lots of genetic engineering and manipulation to make their coupling possible .... the same engineering that was outlawed in the eugenics war.
- Bit ironic, considering many of those species are engineered descendants of the progenitors.
  
  I never thought of it before but the Illyrians are, in some ways, carrying on the work of the progenitors.
Except interspecies relations wouldn't procreate on its own and if it worked at all would require serious help from science. Spock was a result from lots of genetic assistance, and that's being very distantly related (TNG The Chase).
- In DS9, Dukat accidentally knocks up two Bajoran women and I seriously doubt they were undergoing advanced medical treatment to deliberately have a child in either situation.
  There was a TNG episode that revealed that this ancient species seeded the galaxy with life which explains why there are so many humanoid species and might also explain how different species are capable or procreating.
  
  On Voyager Harry Kim hooks up with an alien that gives him a glowing std.
  
  It wouldn't be the first time different canon collided with each other. In that case I tend to go with the one that makes more sense.
