The idea is that it’s a cost-free opportunity to potentially drive a petty wedge between the notably mercurial and ego-obsessed Trump and his similarly emotive pal Musk, and to sow some chaos in the upper ranks of the Republican Party.

It’s so funny because he actually explains why Elon isn’t the president as opposed to just dismissing the idea outright. It makes the idea that Elon is president more convincing.
That's what made me laugh too. As if there was no other reason that Elon isn't president other than his birth place.
