you know i'm beginning to think china might not be very communist.
- All Chinese companies are owned by the Chinese government. It's still a centralized economy.

In my 6 visits to China I was always struck with how ultra capitalist it is. Everyone is hustling and the religion is money, far beyond in the US
- It's always a bit of a culture shock. What are some of the things you saw?
  
  Not OP and I haven't been in a decade but every time in the past I went I was always shocked by how much bribery or "gift giving" was ingrained into the culture. I heard it's less of a thing now though but I cannot confirm.
