I use the same PC with two SSDs. One has Linux (Mint) on it, other has Windows, so I can compare games in both operating systems. Here is few of my experiences.

Hearts of Iron 4: Runs 50% faster on Linux, in a heavy mod like Millennium Dawn, in my tests. Game loading time is like 30 seconds on Linux to 5 minutes in Windows, in Millennium Dawn. So I don't play HOI4 on Windows anymore. Definitely play on Linux.

Europa Universalis 4: Runs better on Linux, significant loading time difference compared to Windows.

Stellaris: I didn't test it, but it uses same engine as HOI4 and EU4, so I guess there would be similar results.

Daggerfall Unity, heavily modded: This game from 1996 is demanding resources like it is a brand new game on Windows but runs so smoothly on Linux. Definitely play on Linux.

Not much difference, or worse in Linux:

Crusader Kings 3: Don't have much difference. Some heavy mods like AGOT are running better on Windows.

Victoria 3: I didn't see much difference.
