“You see, whether you can draw like this or not, being able to think up this kind of design, it depends on whether or not you can say to yourself, ‘Oh, yeah, girls like this exist in real life.”
“If you don’t spend time watching real people, you can’t do this, because you’ve never seen it.”
“Some people spend their lives interested only in themselves.”
“Almost all Japanese animation is produced with hardly any basis taken from observing real people, you know.”
“It’s produced by humans who can’t stand looking at other humans.”
“And that’s why the industry is full of otaku!”
Which is the second time it's come up in a week. sigh
but as a large adult son I think the idea of having only pretty characters in video games is kinda messed up. There should definitely be some pretty characters but let's not ban ugly people form being in media
Fucker, I look at link and I get envious. I need to look like that. But then I look at Billy Herrington and think the same. I hate this conflict within me :luffy-zoned-out:
Based. It’s one of the things I like about anime is that they tend to put some effort into male protagonist designs.
Even Fairy Tail, the quintessential horny teenage boy anime that’s borderline hentai still has plenty of male characters that don’t make you gag upon sight (Yes, I did have a crush on Gray as a teenager how did you know?)
I've never seen any anime but you can't convince me that you can successfully identify any of the parade of waifus I've been unwillingly exposed to because there's one character model and fifty thousand ways to color her shirt
I’m by no means praising Fairy Tail (although come to think of it the tail part of the name is sus) but I’ll begrudgingly admit that at least they have one or two fanservicey men. Still bad, but it’s a start.
God, there's alot of things I hate about Fairy Tail.
"Here's a strong female character. Oh, watch her get hit by magic that makes her a submissive bimbo."
Also an absurd amount of tentacles/ropes/spider webs to restrain barely clothed women.
