Pennsylvania high court rules against two third-party candidates trying for presidential ballot
The decisions hand a win apiece to each major party, as Democratic and Republican party loyalists work to fend off third-party candidates for fear of siphoning votes away from their parties' nominees.
19 presidential electors named in the paperwork were registered as Democrats and thus violated a political disaffiliation provision in the law. State law bars minor-party candidates from being registered with a major political party within 30 days of the primary election.
I think this makes sense.
Considering the most likely reason they did it is so that they could vote tactically in a Democratic primary, I don't think it makes sense. Why should they be forced to disenfranchise themselves now in order to maybe get the chance to vote for their preferred candidate later?
They aren’t voting. They’re running for office.
Getting people appointed to smaller, local seats is realistic. Running for national seats is also realistic. Running for the top seat without first building up a strong base is lunacy.
Hitler wasn't appointed before having a third of government held by nazis. Even then, he got denied repeatedly. If only Hindenburg had held out a little longer, the nazis would have collapsed in debt and the world would be a better place.
Anyway, that diatribe aside, you aren't serious if you think you have a shot at becoming president as a third party in this country without doing a lot to change the landscape first.
