beehaw might be leaving the fediverse

beehaw.org The Beehaw project is entering some significant challenges - Beehaw

There is a lot of discussion happening in the background of our project here. We could not anticipate all of the challenges that we were going to face a few years ago. • What is the origin of the beehaw community?

    • Back in the early days if lemmy, they got sick of all the tankies and wanted their own 'non political' instance, which is still full of politics.

I think one of the people that started it messaged me early on asking if I wanted to be involved. I was pretty 'anti-tankie' at the time but that was before I had engaged with actual liberals online as much as I do now on lemmy. I'd take a tankie over a lib any day now.

Anyway, since the beginning of beehaw they just projected an aura of smugness across the other instances (I think there were only 3-4 at the time though). I originally had hopes they would succeed and become a good addition the lemmyverse since most of their users seemed like decent leftists generally speaking bit their apparent full on support for the state department in eastern Europe made me cringe.
