I have a server I've abandoned because it does this every time it reboots. Use an old desktop from work instead.

Grub rescue should come with a hug or maybe a nice picture of a landscape.
A random gif with a cute cat or a dog would be nice.
Difficult to stuff this in the MBR for non EFI users. AFAIK grub can display background pictures though.
