The UK grew ever so slightly faster than the EU in the second quarter as falling exports brought growth in the bloc to a near standstill.

Misleading title. The UK has 0.2% for one quarter instead of the EU's 0.1% but the UK has been doing worse for the last few years since Brexit so I would hardly call it 'ahead of EU'.

And no, the UK hasn't been doing as bad as everyone thought. All the stats got revised and an extra 2% of GDP was added
