Alright, normally when imbibing I'm listening to Tool, Floyd, Muse, Rush, etc. But let me tell you, The Very Best of Garth Brooks bangs, it's making me want to move. So, any other suggestions for music that might not be deep but hits different while having a good time?
Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production of Eggs.
Rilo Kiley - The Execution of All Things.
Ray Lamontagne - Trouble.
Johnny Cash - all the American recordings. Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hot.
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine.
Idles - Joy as an act of resistance.
Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman.
Dude, you just described my playlist. Lol. 10/10 so far. Another genre I love to listen to when I'm smoking is 90s west coast gangsta rap. "The Chronic" (1991), "Dogg Food" by The Dogg Pound (1995) and also their 2002 self titled album are absolute bangers. The tracks with Lady of Rage just kick like few other tracks can. You prerty much cant go wrong with anything from Death Row Records. Same goes for anything from Ruthless Records (Eazy-E's Lable) like Bone Thug's first 2 albums "Creepin' in Ah Come Up" (1994) and "East 1999" (1995) also kick major ass. Too $hort's "Get in Where You Fit In" (1993) is fantastic. He's from Oakland, CA so its not quite the LA sound but just as good. It's the only time where that music actually hits my ears in just the right way and It's just that sub genre as far as rap music goes in my life. But that who area is straight up prime ganja smoking music.
Lastly, check out the reggae band, 10ft Ganja Plant. All of their albums are fantastic. "Skycatcher" is a good album to start with and "Midnight Landing" for a more dub/roots reggae.
