I am constantly amused about how "next year" has been "the year of Linux on the desktop" for 20+ years. Meanwhile, Linux & BSD have pretty much completely taken over the whole world except the desktop in that same time.
I'd take MS 10x in the butt over Crapple taking over the desktop-market completely. You know what no-competition means for us, yes?
And no, Linux is NOT an alternative for everything for everyone. And there probably never will be a linux-desktop-for-the-masses coming right into your supermarket/pc-store.
