Poland suggests Hungary leave EU and join “union with Putin” after Orbán criticism
In a speech on Saturday, Orbán accused Poland of "hypocrisy" for "morally lecturing" Hungary over relations with Moscow.
A Polish deputy foreign minister has suggested that Hungary could leave the EU and NATO and instead “create a union with Putin and authoritarian states”.
Looks like that immunity shielding agreement just fell through, good on Poland for voting to stop protecting Orban from the consequences of his total bullshit.
The problem is that Orban has a new pal in Slovakia.
Slovakia, as in the country he denies the legitimate existence of by denouncing trianon, that Slovakia, they're the ones defending him now?

Like in mediaeval feudal times - we (EU) shall send our ugliest daughter (Hungary) to marry the foreign sovereign (Russia). It will bring peace for a time, but the offsprings (congruences) are sure to be ugly af.
I mean, if that's what the uggo wants. Consent matters. If they want to join the losing baddies again that's their decision.

Seems that Budapest is progressive, but the direction is set by the countryside.
Orban is more useful to Putin inside the EU as an obstruction.

This development has been super interesting For a very long time, Poland has been that one best friend Hungary had and they worked together to block everything together (see also Visegrád Group). Then, after the invasion of Ukraine the relationship between them was disrupted very heavily.
