You could win that one though. It was time-able iirc.
22 5 ReplyYeah well tell that to me when I was 13.
27 2 Replyhow do you time something when it uses a random delay?
21 2 ReplyRNG manipulation to get the initial delay to be exactly what you want. Or just wait a few cycles to see what time table you've been given before you hit the button to stop the scroll.

I don't understand this meme. This mini game was probably the only easy part of my childhood.
17 3 Replyno shit, I won 90% of the time, just click click click, there was a timing trick to win everytime, was not rng.
12 2 ReplyIt's complete RNG.
10 4 ReplyNah. It was totally time-able. I nailed this almost every time.

I love using save states in emulators to win this every time.
14 1 ReplyLET'S GO GAMBLING!
(after 2nd thing don't line up) AW DANG IT!
9 0 ReplySeeing as you had about a 3 frame window to line up the middle one (and pure chance to line up the bottom one), don't be too hard on yourself

TIL there are people that never learned the timing trick with this game.
9 3 ReplyThere's a trick? I thought it was just straight up rigged like casino games where it determines the outcome before you press the buttons.
3 0 ReplyNope, apparently you can get screwed by RNG, but you were in control. I don't remember it being particularly hard either

It's so easy to get free guys in Mario 3 that these were kind of pointless. The ones where you could win a hammer bros suit, on the other hand... Those were valuable.
3 0 ReplyI feel like I only ever won this like 2 or 3 times total
2 0 ReplyAt least you control where it stops and can use skill to always get what you want; unlike a real slot machine.
2 2 ReplyNope, the last reel is completely random since the stop variation spans the whole line.
