Wasn't that a huge point of the feminist revolution? To get women out of the kitchen (ie, out of their homes, away from where their children are) and into the office?

Why are things "shocking" at this point? The US doesn't offer any paid maternal leave. Report after report notes how much inflation and stagnant wages are impacting the average person. Follow the logic and this is an expected conclusion.
