This is the last megathread of April, only 3 days are left until May Day.

  • Travelling this week. Don't have a lot of time for a long post.

    TL;DR - LGOrcStreetSamurai is good, but must continue to strive to be better than good in so many ways. We will all strive and climb higher together.

  • Consistent on the running, did my first solo-run on the industrial brewer at work, weather is allowing my to bike some more, and finally made it to an open mic. Needless to say, I was so tired that my Sunday was spent napping and playing slow video games. Normally my ADHD prevents that.

  • I’ve been taking Ls after Ls This job I thought I did well on the interview for rejected me. But I did make a longshot and ask for feedback and basically I was told too many returning staff were coming back and I wasn’t a local, rather than necessarily my qualifications. Still, no job though and that’s on the rare occasion I’m not blown off entirely.

  • Ah I failed again in quitting vaping and bought another one, this shit is very hard, much harder than quitting drinking imo. But I'm still doing good on not drinking as much coffee and I've adjusted my diet a bit where I'm trying to get more protein than empty carbs (I know nothing about dieting).

    • Don't think of it as a failure, you managed to have some vape-free days and that's progress! Maybe it would be a good idea to try getting as many vape-free days in a week as possible so it's not a big deal if you mess up on one day. Also, I heard that it's hard to replace doing something (vaping) with doing nothing (not-vaping), maybe it would be easier to replace a bad habit with a good one.

        Lose weight and healthier diet, like I'm incorporating more fruit and veggies into my meals too.

  • Adhd is kicking my ASS right now. I've managed to read more than I usually would but I have no idea what I'm gonna write for my essay due on Saturday, and nothing is coming to me. My perception of time is that if something is far away (ie more than two days) then I have loads of time to do it, so I can take my time. Then I end up not doing it because I have loads of time, something due in ten days is ages away, I can do something over ten days. Then the next day I think "well nine days is a lot of time", and I still don't start, and so on.

    I've been getting a lot out of therapy recently. My therapist is taking a break for a month so I'll see how this goes.

    My weed consumption has dropped at least. I was high four days this week, which is a lot, but I'm cutting down from being high every day for weeks at a time. I've gotta learn to be sober again. I don't even enjoy being high or want to get high sometimes, and often I immediately regret taking a gummy, but addiction is a pain in the ass.

  • My April was kinda dogshit

    but I still tried my best. I managed to make some progress this week:

    • Practiced meditation on 4 days in a row
    • Did some meal prep, made 9 vegan burritos and froze them. This is my first time making them and they came out great. I want to do this regularly now. It's much healthier than what I usually ate for dinner.
    • Played the guitar in a weird ass tuning and came up with a new idea for a song

    Next week I want to continue meditating every weekday, go hiking with a friend and go running at least once

  • My week last week didn't go as well, cardio 3 4 days and gym like 2 but better than nothing. I did work on my diet though and in terms of losing weight that might be what does it for me. Got a physical coming up next month on the 8 so I'll do what I can to be ready for it, the weigh in is what got me worried but I think I got this. Time to be a fat loser like I know I can be.

    I'm about 4 weeks sober today!

    It's been about a year since I last posted here, so I'll update you guys on a bit. I've been getting a ton of exercise and I'm stronger than I ever have been, even accounting for a year of HRT now! I've been getting out in the sun enough to where my arms are getting kind of tan! I'm out completely as a woman and it's great! I got my name legally changed and I'm working on getting my fun t girl surgery stuff in order now! I have a social life now! and today, I'm baking too much bread!

    I'm also some sort of neopagan now. I don't know if that counts as self improvement but it makes me feel better anyway so...
