  • Happy Easter to those who celebrate! This is a withering holiday I think. Our baskets are typically just excuses to buy candy. No toys (from us anyway), that's usually my parents. We don't got to church, were both atheist, we don't even really talk about the Easter Bunny. They get all their ideas about that from others. But its a good excuse to gather family.

I had a day on Friday that has me thinking about this a little. Me and my SO had Friday off. Kids were in daycare. So we went out with this couple who we've been getting friendly with over the months. They are from Malaysia, and wanted to take us to the Dim Sum place they frequent. Long story short, it was great. The whole vibe was as if they had taken us to their grandparents house. The couple who owned the place were so nice and had stories to tell us. The food was awesome (chicken feet are great).

Our daycare has started doing monthly gatherings after hours for parents (moms nights, dads nights), they had one on Friday for dads, that was great too. The dads had a game night, we played codenames but these dads are very much nerds. I joked with my friend on the way out that this could turn into a bimonthly D&D session lol.

I have more thoughts on this stuff, but I'll save it for another post.

Im really glad the weather is getting nicer. Spent a lot of time outside yesterday. Got the deck furniture out, spent some time at the library community garden with the kids.

All said, a pretty good weekend.
