The 'Golden Star' took to social media on Monday, June 17 to provide a small update on his ankle injury. In the post, Ibushi noted that the hospital is continuing rehabilitation on his ankle.
"Discomfort in left ankle. My inner ankle? I wonder if there is a way to fix this in the shortest amount of time! I wonder if there is a way to fix this in the shortest amount of time. I went to quite a few places. (Hospital is continuing rehabilitation). Can anyone help me?"
Ibushi underwent surgery on the ankle on January 17, 2024. He was diagnosed with a right tibiofibular ligament tear and a right ankle lateral ligament injury by Pro Wrestling NOAH after competing against Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH The New Year earlier that month.
Yeah, I don't keep up with NOAH that much but that match was real hard to watch and tbqh that was on the part of both of them as Marufuji didn't do that great either iirc. Fingers crossed his match with AJ coming up will be the tits.
I only really tune into NOAH if there's something bonkers on the card tbh. I think Marufuji was as surprised as the rest of us that Ibushi was as beat up as he was from the opening bell.
I haven't seen AJ in quite some time so I'll definitely be checking it out, but I'm still not super thrilled about it being a WWE-NOAH working arrangement... Japan could be heading towards an NXT UK situation soon enough.
With how bad the Yen is doing and for how long it's been bad it wouldn't surprise me if arrangements like these are just getting a bit more alluring due to the cashflow issues.
