The last major holdouts in the protest against Reddit’s API pricing relented, abandoning the so-called “John Oliver rules” which only allowed posts featuring the TV host. It's the official end of the battle. The Reddit protest is over, and Reddit won.
Reddit won because the entire point was to shake out the outspoken troublemakers and pivot to the Facebook and Instagram crowd which is seen as easier to monetize.
I'm guessing Spez (Steve Huffman) is going to take the next exit he can. Then, a new CEO can come on promising changes and blame Steve for all the problems.
