Hm... is the Helldivers 2 experience positive?

What's your definition of surprisingly well? 60 fps on high on a level 9 mission?
I don’t know if it’s 60 FPS, but just this Sunday I was helldiving on Meridia with a full party of 4 doing dark fluid runs on 9 and I didn’t have any lag or issues playing. And I play docked with the resolution set to 1920x1080 so it’s certainly more aggressive on the hardware than in handheld mode at 1280x800. All this is to say it feels smooth and lag free (I unfortunately just haven’t bothered scoping out FPS; too worried about the Charger that’s aiming to slap me under one of those bile titans 😅)
It really doesn't run well at all and you have to reduce the settings so much that it looks really bad. When I tried it I was barely hitting 30 fps on one of the first few difficulty levels. Unless they've drastically improved performance or people only play at low difficulty I personally wouldn't recommend it.
It's not so bad if you stream it from a pc but I assume most people want to play portably.
