Any tips on removing super glue from skin? I was opening a new tube, and when I pierced the end it went everywhere! I looked online and it said detergent, lemon juice, or oil. None worked. I also tried isopropyl alcohol and meths and neither worked 🙁
Cyanoacrylate is a moisture cure adhesive. You have lots of moisture in your skin which helps it cure.
Cyanoacrylate is used in medical glue because it bonds so well with skin.
Depending on the cut/injury, the medic may apply glue instead of stitches.
It's doing its job.
Don't use acetone, it's bad for you.
I gave nail polish remover a go anyway on one patch and it didn't seem to make a significant difference. I don't have any digits stuck together so I think I might just wait it out until it wears itself off.
I gave it a go on the worst patch but it didn't seem to help much 🙁. One other finger seems to be wearing off pretty quick though. Maybe it won't last too long.
I was hoping to speed up the process since I had two fingers and a thumb almost covered over on side. It really made quite a mess. Not too bad now, though.
