I've been watching it to buy for my partner who isn't a major gamer but plays stuff. It released with hype and nobody talked about it again. What's up with Hogwarts Legacy? Is it that bland?
Well, I haven't actually played it yet, but every Harry Potter fan I know, loved it. It's not a perfect game, and has it's faults, but if you are even a little bit fan of Harry Potter, from what I have heard, you would enjoy the game.
As for not hearing about it, the game got good reviews, and I have seen many people mention it in their best games of the years lists. So, not sure why you didn't hear about it.
If you are talking about social media, I avoid them most of the time, so I can't say much about that, but I remember there was a huge outcry against Hogwarts Legacy because of J. K. Rowling and her views about transgenders, and I recall droves of people going against anyone on twitter who mentioned getting or liking the game, so it's possible this is why you didn't heard about it much, but I didn't follow those news too much, so not sure how much it happened.
I found it boring, but to be fair I just jumped on to roam when my partner wasn't playing. But the broom has a flight meter limiting speed which is odd and the world is cool but boring mostly.
Also there's a bug where your shield (a bubble around you) just keeps appearing until you restart the game which happens every time I play so I just turn it off and turn on God of War.
