It's okay, there were weird takes about 9/11 when 9/11 was fresh in our minds too.
Like the president of the US trying to blame it on Iraq for some reason.
So he could invade Iraq and get revenge for his daddy.
Iraq was not about revenge, it was about hegemony, just like it was outlined in "rebuilding America's defenses", also known as the PNAC document.
