What qualifies as an “indie” RPG? Is that shorthand for “not D&D?”
More or less, call of cthulu and pathfinder are the only other ones that might count as mainstream.
But I'm probably falling in the same trap as this comic, my grandma knows about DNDs existence. No chance for anything else.
Also VTM, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, and Battletech. I think your average nerd gamer knows about those.

You could probably also throw the fallout ttrpg in there since it has branding of the video game series behind it
