It's 4 minutes of this or 4 hours one way to commute
4 minutes in a deathtrap vs. 4 hours not in a deathtrap... doesn't seem like it's worth the time savings.

All I'm saying is they are not stupid. If their situation is desperate enough it's worth the risk I can't judge them.
