Is this common or unique to me? White text on the light background is fairly illegible.

Settings >> Appearance >> Uncheck “Use System Light/Dark Mode” >> Check Dark Mode.
On the unhelpful side, I have never seen the appeal of light mode. Curious why people prefer it?
22 3 ReplyHonestly during the day I personally find light mode easier to read. I understand this seems uncommon but the contrast “feels” better. I use the “True Tone” on iPhone though which makes the whites not so stark and blinding.
16 0 ReplySame here, yeah. I also don’t enjoy seeing fingerprint smudges in broad daylight and light mode hides them better.

It causes problems for certain people with astigmatism. Like me. For me, dark mode is unusable.

I had to remove the Shortcut from my phone and redo the shortcut via safari
