Sorry to disappoint you. Most scientists love poetry. People that can express the principles of our fields beautifully are our heroes. Watch talks by eminent scientists: they are more often than not exceptional communicators as well as thinkers.
You don't need to assume that I don't know one or two things about quantum chemistry to get what it's saying. Quite the contrary, I'm familiar enough with the subject that the analogy stops making sense to me at some point and ends in pure fantasy. Like, if you want to jerk off to it go ahead but it's not doing it for me. But the hivemind likes it so whatever.
I didn't assume anything, bud, I asked you two questions. The reason I wanted to know if you're familiar with QFT is because the analogy of song makes sense to me, in the context of QFT, and one reason to dismiss the analogy is if you don't know anything about QFT and think someone's just spouting hippy-dippy bullshit. I wanted to make sure it wasn't that.
It's too bad you don't like the song analogy. Maybe we'll find something on an even smaller scale shaped like dicks and then it'll be Quantum Dick Theory, and if someone comes up with poetic language to describe the universe in dicks that'll be popular too. That seems unlikely because of maths I don't understand, but whatever 🤷♀️
But, you don't like it because it stops making sense to you at some point. Cool. Am I allowed to ask what that point is and why it doesn't make sense past it, or do you just wanna tell me to go jerk off again?
I don't think it's productive to go around questioning people's POVs and opinions. Maybe I'm getting old but this is so tiring.
I studied chemistry to a great extent and I'm familiar enough with quantum chemistry to have taken at least one lecture and opened a textbook. I hope that answers your questions and if not that's fine.
It doesn't make sense to me but it makes sense to you. Awesome, let's move on.
Right, so you've got all this experience and knowledge and all you want to do is complain that people get it wrong, you don't want to do anything to change that by say educating someone who's engaging in good faith. Consider my mistake noted, I'm no longer interested in anything you have to say about anything. You're not old, you're horrifically rude and unnecessarily aggressive. Good day.
I feel like the main reason you don't appreciate the song is because you don't own a vibrator strong enough to really vibrate your whole body.
But that's only the half of it, you should really look up and listen to the Song of Warm Gravel. We have a lot in common with warm gravel. We are both atomic in nature and warm to the touch. Much like we share 99% of our DNA with asparagus or whatever it was, our song is very similar to the song of warm gravel.
The main reason is not that I don't appreciate what it's saying. I don't need a frequency to get it and I'm unsure if you're being sarcastic.
The main reason is that I know chemistry and the analogy breaks for me at some point and the author is left jerking themselves off to some metaphysical fantasy.
Who said I'm saying they understand it better? I'm saying they understand it differently, which is fine, but I don't get it and I don't care for those allegories.
Did you also think all of your teachers were jerking themselves off every day in front of the class?
What are you on about? Do you see any college textbooks written with this kind of imagery in STEM? I don't see anything but clear, precise language in those texts.
