Israel’s military starts drafting ultra-Orthodox Jews – but the battle over serving ‘the army of God’ vs. the army of the state isn’t over, and points to key questions for the country’s future.
Netanyahu's going to need a much bigger military for whoever he goes to war with next. Because they'll have an actual trained military force to go up against.
Let's see Israel do it without an endless supply of American shells and bullets. They publicly said they couldn't do Gaza without it. Let's try Syria, or Iran. Should go well right?
You mean, "oh shit a politics guy whose actually studied the region". But that's okay I get why you're confused.
Especially with the Soviet connection. Israel maintained it was not aligned and received aid from both great powers until the Korean War in which it supported the UN and the US. After which it steadily moved further into the American sphere of influence. So there was one war before it became aligned and it received aid from both countries during that war. Turns out the Russians didn't like the idea of Pan Arabism anymore than the Americans.
And I'm not cheering for anyone. I'm just wishing you good luck without an external source of supply.
